The client's on-premises Exchange server was nearing end-of-life. Rather than continuing to support it or buying a new server, DMC recommended migrating to the Office 365 Cloud. The client and DMC worked together on developing a migration plan that avoided downtime and provided a clear communication plan for users so that they knew what to expect throughout the migration process.
DMC used BitTitan’s MigrationWiz tool to migrate all on-premises Exchange data to the Office 365 Cloud. In addition, Directory Sync was implemented to keep user and group data in sync between their on-premises Active Directory and their Office 365 tenant. DMC also set up Skype for Business so the customer could decommission Yahoo messenger as their business IM tool, and take advantage of instant desktop sharing and video conferencing capabilities.
