At DMC, culture and commitment to employee engagement are among our most important values, as reflected by our active company culture. So, when we heard about the 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work ForTM competition, we were eager to enter.
The 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For™ is a program through the National Association for Business Resources. The competition identifies and honors organizations that display a commitment to excellence in their human resource practices and employee enrichment, and allow those businesses to showcase the qualities which set their companies a rung above the rest. Organizations are assessed based on categories such as communication, work-life balance, employee education, diversity, recognition, retention and more.
We were honored to be recognized as one among another hundred thriving fellow companies in Chicago, and we proudly accepted our award on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Oak Brook Marriott in Oak Brook, IL.
Upon entering the competition, the organization sent an anonymous survey to all of our employees regarding the above topics. This survey made placing among the 101 Best even more rewarding knowing that our employees are proud to work for DMC and enjoy their jobs.
This year The Best and Brightest Companies To Work ForTM added a new category to the competition, and grouped winning employers together based on company size. This demarcation did not exclude any employers, but it did allow for a more transparent and objective competition. Employers with 50 or less employees competed with one another, while those with greater than 50 employees (DMC is in this category) were bracketed in a separate division.
Winners were honored at various galas throughout the country, and I attended, on behalf of DMC employees, the aforementioned gala in Oak Brook, IL in order to accept our award. Not only did we receive a trophy in recognition for our win, but all participating companies will also receive a complimentary assessment report and various benefits throughout the year following their win.
