Hyrule, of course, is a fictional kingdom in the Legend of Zelda video game series. For an amazing activity fund event, DMC went to see Zelda Symphony of the Goddess at the famous Chicago Theatre.
To get into the spirit, I dressed as Link, along with many other attendees at the Symphony Orchestra. The concert featured the most beloved music from Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, A Link to the Past, The Wind Waker, and many other Zelda titles in the series. The music was paired with video from the respective games, and watching the 8-bit gameplay truly took any Zelda fanatic back in time. There was an overwhelming sense of nostalgia for video games that many of us loved playing as kids.
During the intermissions, Nintendo fans in the audience whipped out their Nintendo 3DSs and played others online or made new friends with StreetPass. It was an amazing feeling to be in the presence of such passionate fans, and to bring them all together. As for the wonderful orchestra, they received multiple standing ovations!
