One of DMC's most popular social events is our annual ski trip. Supplemented by DMC's activity fund, past trips have taken us to Breckenridge and Vail. This year, 16 DMC employees and friends headed for the snowy slopes outside Salt Lake City.
Over a long weekend we managed to tackle both Snow Basin and Powder Mountain, splitting up into large and small groups each day. Our group ranged in experience from beginner to advanced skiers along with a handful of snowboarders. Conditions on the mountain were mixed, with a slushy Friday, sunny backcountry Saturday, and whiteout Sunday.
When DMC wasn't dominating the slopes, we spent our time together in a large house complete with an indoor pool, hot tub, and bunk beds. We enjoyed cooking dinners from scratch, watching terrible movies, and playing some group games. Another highlight was our short trip to Antelope Island on the way home.
Relive DMSki 2013 below with our poetry, photos, and a video created by our own Tim Jager. We hope you enjoy them!
GPS Coordinates
Normally so timely and swift
Chair progress started to drift
After an hour long wait
Jon sent out their state
An SOS straight from the lift
Steep Moguls
When visibility dwindles to moot
And ski disconnects from said boot
A classy technique
Of which we don’t speak
The honorable pole and butt scoot
The Anglers Were Annoyed
Since downhill just didn’t suffice
Adnaan thought the lake would be nice.
To quell all your fears
It takes 4 engineers
To unstick a car from the ice
