Born and raised in Michigan, Derek graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor with a B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering and has 4 years of experience with camera development in the automotive industry. He is a Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD) on the Test and Measurement team and is interested in control systems, image processing, and renewable technologies. Derek is a lifelong runner, former wrestler, and an avid 3d printer. In his free time he also enjoys friendly competition (ping pong, chess, basketball, etc.), spending time outdoors, and ice cream year-round. Derek hopes to make a positive impact in the world, one VI at a time.
